Invasion

ICON’s newest issue Invasion is out in newsstands with the very hot Rafael Rosell on cover.

I must say this is my favorite issue not because it’s the latest issue but because the concept is really tight, the layout is consistent, and all the changes I wanted was finally carried out. So far, it was the most difficult issue to make. We experienced coordination problems and I also had so many plans that literally got rained on. But, in the end we were able to produce an issue with great editorials and stories that inspire.

I’m most proud of the cover and Film Strip because I did the final artwork for these pages. This issue is probably the one closest to my heart and a close runner-up is Maximum Exposure. I actually got very emotional during the final stages of closing week because I was frustrated at cover and at the difficulty of putting the entire issue together. I wanted it perfect and on time! But sometimes you have no control of things especially if you don't forsee problems.

On the other hand, Angelo was joking that this is the Suki issue because I have so many by lines. I was a writer, an art director, a creative director, and a stylist. It's just a running joke because I told him The Issue of Power was the Angelo issue. It really was! Check out all the Angelo Morales by lines and the A.M.'s.
