Beauty Rush

I had a couple of Lychee Martinis at M Café last night with a high school friend, Nicole, who is visiting the Philippines for a month with her friend Bianca. Nicole and Bianca both live in Vegas. As usual, I was slathering on my favorite lip product Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 when Bianca turns to me and says, “What’s that?” Then I go on and on about how I carry a ton of lip balm. She, apparently, is a lip balm addict as well. What was supposed to be an evening of drinks and small talk turned out to be a lip balm show down. She had a total of six in her bag and I too had six. We were even.

This sweet Bianca asks me to try this new product Beauty Rush Minty Lip Shine by Victoria Secret. It has the right amount of shine, but it also has a refreshing peppermint oil that cools lips and freshens your breath. It’s perfect for the scorching summer heat (and for smokers too).

ICON For Balenciaga

These were taken during ICON’s Sex Issue Feature shoot. We were being silly, taking photos with Gerry Santos’ Balenciaga bag. Not only did we get a fabulous ICON shoot, but we also shot ICON for Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière.





I'm dying for a bag like this, but maybe I'll purchase one in five years. Yes, it's that expensive.

Crush

I have a thing for slim guys who are bordering on skinny. I don’t really have a height preference; both tall and short are ok with me. He must be cute not handsome and he must also have a close-to-perfect set of teeth. On the contrary, I don’t mind crooked teeth as long as it goes with a great smile.

Lately, I’ve been crushing on Einar Ingebrigsten. You may have seen him in the 2005 edition of the Mossimo Bikini Summit where he lost to eventual winner Marco Grazzini (who is also equally slim and cute). This half Norwegian-half-Filipino model is currently part of Philippine Tatler's Most Eligible list and is also the newest face of McDonalds. He totally reminds me of my former crush, MTV VJ Utt Panichikul.

I was having a discussion with a friend about cover models and when it's okay to feature a model that another publication just featured. He says, "Suki, it's okay to feature this model even if he/she just came out. Your release is months apart and heck, everyone does it." The December Hollywood Issue of Vanity Fair had Keira Knightley on the cover and she appears again in the May issue of US Vogue.

Even if everyone does it, does it mean it's ok? I know it's all about execution, but I have this huge discomfort about copying cover models.
